KHUSHIYON KA JUNCTION: The joy of Giving

Desi Junction worldwide radio station works on the principle that “happiness is only real when shared”. Because perceived needs and ability to address them determine each society’s range of welfare services, there exists no universal vocabulary of social welfare.

About-DJ-Strength-bannerOver 84,000 hungry stomachs were fed this Dusshehra, all thanks to the “Feed your neighbor” campaign. Inspired by the campaign, the Desi Junction team decided to ta ke an initiative with the vision of a Happy, Healthy and Creative Child whose rights are protected and honored in a society that is built on respect for dignity, justice and equality for all.

In the history of Desi Junction, we have done many things for the community, staff society, and promotion of talent. Today we are adding a new chapter in the book of Desi Junction. So we have joined hands with some like-minded volunteers around the world to give hope and fulfill dreams of underprivileged kids.

Glimpse into projects in action for Homeless kids:13

  • We are going to send gifts to Homeless kids who have no one to take care of them.
  • Hair cutting for girls from enriched L’Oreal high end salon and makeover of one girl.
  • Dental care services.
  • “Fulfill your wish” campaign to make wishlist come true for 60 girls.

We are looking for volunteers across India and NRIs living around the world to join hands with us & spread the message of charity & benevolence as its said when we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.

We have started the initiative to serve those who are in dire need of some help,  Desi Junction has joined hands with some like minded volunteers around the world to give hope and fulfill dreams of underprivileged and Homeless kids. Starting this month when we all are celebrating Diwali , we are going to send gifts to these Homeless kids who have no one to take care of them.

How it Started :—– Feed Your Neighbor – An aim to eradicate HUNGER!!!

Hunger Mission

A drive Started by Mahita Fernandez on the occasion of Dusherra. A 34-year-old Mahita Fernandez took unique initiative aims to feed close to 10 lakhs underprivileged citizens for ten days during the period of Dusshera starting from October 12th to 22nd.

Mahita and her team of volunteers have identified 18 such centers that are at a reasonable distance of three kilometers from most neighborhoods. The packages should be dropped off by 7 pm at the centers, and they are then distributed by our volunteers to various slums and homes.

ROLE OF “DESI JUNCTION” TEAM

The Whole Team of “DESI JUNCTION” also took the initiative to be a part of this program. It’s our greatest opportunity to be a part of this noble cause. Our mission is to Feed the hungry and help fill stomachs this Dussehra. But the important aim is to build a sense of community in within our people. Many people want to help, not in large ways, but in small, manageable ways.

There are four ways to help this Initiative:

The first and the most preferred method is cooking five extra meals.

The second method includes contributing with provisions to Mahita who runs a centralized kitchen from her Langford Road residence.

Those unable to cook or volunteer can also contribute to the project by donating money. We have opened a bank account for this purpose. The money will be used to foot transportation costs.

The fourth way to help out is via volunteering from 6:30 to 8 pm. Volunteers are the backbone of this project. So take the Initiative and be a part of Desi Junction to this drive and help poor people in believing in Humanity once again. It’s never too late to begin. Let us join hands and Feed the Poor. Feel the Ultimate Satisfaction.
